Other new openings include the Marriott Hotel in St. Petersburg, Russia, the first Marriott hotel in Russia in more than 20 years, and the opening of the new hotel at the US Embassy in Moscow.
The Marriott Novosibirsk will be positioned at the interface of two of Russia's most important economic and cultural centers. Marriott Janus Hotel, a Marriott Courtyard Marriott Krasnodar in Ulyanovsk, Russia, will be the first Marriott hotel in Russia in more than 20 years and one of the largest Marriott hotels in the world.
When we went into the lobby, the reception cut off a few seating areas right in front of us. In the far corner of the room there was a dining table and two chairs. Dinner was served buffet style, but the portions were rather small, so you could get as many portions as you wanted. We also had a large buffet with a wide selection of starters, desserts and drinks.
Another positive aspect of the Park Inn is its restaurant, which offers a wide selection of food and drinks as well as a wide selection of wines. The hotel offers a range of unique amenities that guests can enjoy, including an outdoor pool, spa and fitness centre.
If you fancy a night out in the city, the hotel is also close to many of Novosibirsk's best restaurants. Most hotels in the Marriott portfolio will offer a variety of food and beverages and lounge access, but there are no lounges or access for guests of the Park Inn or any other Marriott hotel. However, if a hotel has a lounge, it is usually only for breakfast, with more offers during the day. Although many Marriott hotels around the world do not have club lodges, you will find that they serve a wide range of beverages, including beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and other alcoholic beverages such as wine and beer.
On the second morning I slept and unfortunately missed breakfast, so that there was no breakfast again. I got on the train at 4: 30 a.m. and arrived just as the breakfast hour was ending. So I had to frantically grab a few bites before tidying everything up and getting on the train at 4.30am in the morning.
Unfortunately, I was also informed that the hotel restaurant was closed for renovation work, which meant that breakfast and dinner were instead served in one of the conference rooms so I could enjoy complimentary drinks in the rooftop bar and lounge. So I went to the rooftop bar / lounge to watch France versus Belgium over a plate of chicken wings and a drink. Since our main restaurant is closed for renovation work, we had our meal at the bar instead.
It was also cool to visit the hotel's indoor pool, but given the small size of the gym, the facilities were decent. The pantry area had a kettle, which is not often seen, and there was a nice selection of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as a variety of snacks. There were a few other nice things in the bathroom, like the jacuzzi and shower. Other things I liked about this bathroom were the underfloor heating, there were many private showers and even a shower stall with a bathtub in it.
The Marriott Novosibirsk does not have a lounge, which is certainly a great advantage, but there are dinner and free drinks every evening. There was a bit of confusion about whether the drinks were free or not, but it turned out that it was a soft drink that was included. The hotel should have been a no-brainer and offered excellent value for money at that time. I felt like I got value for my points, as the cash price was about $150 a night, which was quite expensive for a hotel that is relatively in the middle of nowhere. It is truly one of the best hotels I have ever found in Novo Sibirsk, and a very nice one.
